May Author Night at The Met
Join best-selling author L.A. Chandlar for a night at the Met! We will take a walk through favorite scenes and places from the Art Deco Mystery series and have a lively discussion of 1930s themes as we take a deeper look at the endlessly interesting Thomas Hart Benton mural, America Today. Then we will have some wine together at the second floor entrance with live music. Afterward, you can feel free to continue to browse through the Met and Met store until closing. Tickets include the entrance ticket to the Met, a personal tour, wine, and a gift bag.
We will meet just inside and to the left of the main doors at 6:15/6:30, I will have a sign. Please arrive early to leave your coats with coatcheck or to browse through the Met Store. We will start the tour promptly at 6:30. If you arrive after 6:30, I will have your Met entrance tickets WITH ME, so just go to the ticket counter and ask for a $1 entrance ticket (New Yorkers with ID can purchase tickets at a suggested donation), then please meet us on the first floor, rear exhibit at the Thomas Hart Benton mural. The museum guides can help you.
There are escalators and the event is wheelchair accessible (on ground level to the left of the front steps is an wheelchair entrance). Please be advised that it is a long walk to the back of the Met and back again. There is seating at the mural where we will have discussion and of course at the end at the wine bar.
